Die goldene Stunde

A documentary set within an empty school, exploring what remains of the presence and energy of children once they have left for the day. Narrated through the inner thoughts of schoolchildren, the film combines an observational perspective with a constructed visual approach.

Developed the visual concept in close collaboration with the director. Set entirely within an empty school, the film uses slow, continuous camera movements to contrast the space with the presence of the children’s voices. The visual approach focuses on precise timing, movement, and spatial composition to create a consistent visual language.

Steadicam was used to create controlled, continuous movement through the space, with movements developed in response to pre-recorded interviews, directly linking the space to the children’s voices.

Screened at international film festivals including Visions du Réel (Nyon), Reykjavik International Film Festival, and Tirana International Film Festival.
